Living Balanced

Uncategorized Jun 27, 2025

No matter where you are in life, creating balance is crucial to good health, relationships and ultimately your success. If your goal is a stress free life, that may not be possible. I apologize for starting out so negatively. What I mean to say is that living a balanced life is a more attainable goal. This actually can tame down the stress. Honestly, some stress is good for us. Our bodies are good at handling some stress. It is when our lives are in a steady state of stress that indicates a lack of balance. This can ultimately lead to many health issues and struggles with clutter, chaos and disorganization.

Finding balance in life is a very individual thing. I want to give you some tools to create your balanced life. First, we must start here:

Grab a piece of paper and pen because it is time do some writing. Write down the following

  1. Spirituality
  2. Relationships
  3. Career
  4. Wellness
  5. Hobbies
  6. Money
  7. Personal Growth

Now pick out the three that are the MOST important to you. Label them as 1, 2, 3. The other areas can be assigned a number based on their importance in your life. We can still work on those other areas but the main focus each day are your top 3. These will now become a part of your everyday agenda. For me, I have faith, relationships and wellness as my top three. Determining the amount of time for these three is up to you.

Let’s see how best we can integrate the top 3 into every day:

  1. Intentionally tend to these areas daily. These are your top priorities above everything else. Now, I will say there are some days when wellness (healthy eating or exercise) is not met fully. This is okay, I am definitely aware of it when it happens. When sometimes becomes more frequent then I know I need to get myself in check.
  2. Schedule the priorities with yourself. Some of us do better this way. If that is you, put it in your planner or use your phone calendar.
  3. Create a check in. This is key when you first start out out or when you notice you are feeling less balanced. Did you do ______?   Did you spend as much time doing ____ as you needed? How can this be improved tomorrow? We are a work in progress!!
  4. Recognize when you are in need of adjustment. Different seasons of life require different priorities. My kids are grown so I had to adjust my evenings so that I didn’t become a couch potato! My husband and I created some new healthy habits with each other.
  5. Be on mission! Once you establish the three areas you need to live balanced you now have your mission statement. This helped me learn to say, “no” to things that were not part of my priorities. Honestly, this gave me so much freedom. I wished I had learned it sooner!!!

Living a life that is balanced allows you to be your best self. This allows you to help others at a higher level. Our membership site Keeping It Simple has so much more on this topic. If this is speaking to you, I’d like to invite you to go there to go deeper on this topic. If I can help someone help someone else then my life before living organized will not have been in vain.
